But I’m just as comfortable stepping back. When your people are laughing together, someone reaches for your hand or a moment begins to unfold on its own, I want to give it the space to happen rather than interrupting it for the sake of a photograph.

A Few Things You Might Be Wondering

Where are you based and do you travel for weddings?

I’m based in Central Alberta, but I’m always open to travelling wherever your wedding takes me. If you’re planning your day somewhere beyond driving distance, I’d love to hear where you’re headed and what you have planned.

Travel by vehicle is charged at $0.65/km. If your wedding requires flights or accommodations, we’ll chat through those details together on our call so you know what to expect before moving forward.

How do we book Roaming Vaquera Photography for our wedding?

Start by sending an inquiry with a little bit about the two of you, your wedding date, location and what you’re planning. I’ll be in touch with my availability and everything you need to know about the wedding photography experience. If it feels like the right fit on both sides, we’ll make it official with your signed contract and retainer. Then the planning begins.

How far in advance should we book our wedding photographer?

Wedding dates can fill well in advance, especially during Alberta’s busiest wedding season and for celebrations that require travel. If you have your date and Roaming Vaquera Photography feels like the right fit, I recommend reaching out rather than waiting until every other detail is figured out. Once I know your date, location and what you’re planning I can walk you through what comes next.

What if we’re awkward in front of the camera?

You’re in good company if being in front of the camera feels a little awkward. You don’t need any experience to have wedding photographs that feel natural and true to you. I’ll give you direction when you need it without forcing you into poses that don’t feel like yourselves. By the time your wedding arrives, we’ll already know each other a little better, which makes it easier to settle in and focus on each other rather than the camera.

Can we include our animals in our photos?

Absolutely. If your horses or other animals are part of your life, I’d love to include them. I’m comfortable working with animals and understand that sometimes getting the photograph means giving them a little extra time rather than expecting everything to happen on cue.

These photographs should feel like your life, so if an animal is an important part of it, they belong in the story too.

Do you have location options to choose from?

Absolutely. If you already have a place that means something to you, I’m all for making it part of your session. It could be somewhere connected to your story or simply a place where you feel at home.

If nothing comes to mind, I’m happy to help. I know some beautiful locations and can recommend somewhere based on the look you’re drawn to and what you want your photographs to feel like. We’ll find a setting that makes sense for you rather than choosing somewhere just because it photographs well.

Who will be photographing my wedding?

Yours truly! I’ll be the main photographer with you on your wedding day, and I only book one wedding per date so I can give yours my full attention.

If you’d like a second photographer, that can absolutely be added. We can talk about whether having one makes sense for your day and what you have planned.

Will you help us with our wedding day timeline?

Absolutely. As we get closer to your wedding, I’ll create a photography timeline around the plans you already have in place and send it your way to review.

The goal is to make sure we have enough time for the photographs that are important to you without making your entire day revolve around the camera. With the planning taken care of beforehand, you can spend your wedding day enjoying it rather than worrying about what needs to happen next.
